Ignoring the Abduction and Abuse of Chinese Women, Peng Liyuan Must Resign as “Special Envoy” to Atone

WRIC: Zhang Jing                                                 March 3,2022

Ignoring the abduction and abuse of Chinese women, Peng Liyuan must resign as “special envoy” to atone

At the end of February this year, a photo of “Eight Girls” with an iron chain tied around her neck was exposed, which aroused widespread concern among the Chinese people, with more than 4 billion clicks and hundreds of millions of comments. The Jiangsu provincial government has released investigation reports five times, all of which used one lie to cover up another lie, and failed to quell the voices of doubt and condemnation from the Chinese people and even overseas Chinese. The Chinese government adopted old-fashioned methods to suppress the media and delete the posts of scholars and netizens. At the same time, the victim “Cha in Girl” was kept in a mental hospital, and local officials were expelled from the Party in lieu of criminal penalties and civil compensation. On March 1, netizens exposed another “Iron Dragon Girl” tragedy in Jiaxian County, Shaanxi Province. A young woman was locked in an iron cage for a long time, but she could not be rescued by the local government police. We are deeply concerned that the “Chain Girls” will be shut up forever in the hospital, and that many more “Cage Girls” in China will be “disappeared”.

Today is International Women’s Day on March 8, and March is also the Women’s History Month in the United States. Originally, it was a day when all women in the world happily celebrated their festivals, but during the nearly 40 years of China’s implementation of the national policy of family planning, at least 10 million women and children have Like Xuzhou’s “Chain Girls”, they were trafficked, abused, raped, gang-raped, made into sex slaves and reproductive machines. As China’s first lady, Peng Liyuan was awarded the title of “Special Envoy for the Promotion of Girls’ and Women’s Education” by UNESCO in 2014, but she turned a blind eye to the large number of Chinese women and children in suffering. “Dragon Girl” and other tragedies did nothing; turning a blind eye to the 80 million left-behind children in rural China who lacked care and access to normal education, Peng Liyuan did not deserve this title, she tarnished the name of the special envoy. Therefore, on March 8, International Women’s Day, we make two of requests to UNESCO, UN Women and UNICEF:

  1. Require UN Women and UNICEF to intervene, urge the Chinese government to effectively combat the issue of human trafficking, thoroughly investigate the truth of the ongoing cases of “Chain Girl” and “Cage Girl”, and hold all those involved in the criminal interest held accountable. Criminal liability and civil damages.

  1. In view of the growing problem of a large number of Chinese and Southeast Asian girls being abducted and trafficked to rural China, Peng Liyuan has done nothing for many years, she has not fulfilled her own responsibilities, we strongly urge UNESCO to cancel Peng Liyuan’s “special envoy for the promotion of women’s and children’s education” Stop dressing up the vanity of the First Lady with the suffering of the girls, and free up the seat for another truly responsible and caring sage.

We will never forget the painful eyes of the “Chain Girls” and “Iron Cage Girls”. We will continue to pay attention to them, speak out for justice for them, ask for the truth of the case, criminal accountability and civil compensation, and we will continue to work with the suffering The tormented sisters stand together!

Re:       Save Millions of Tortured Sex Slaves in China

Date:    March 8th, 2022

Dear Respected UNESCO, UN Women and UNICEF:

We are writing to urge you to pay close attention to the millions of tortured sex slaves in China, intervene and investigate the horrible anti-human crimes that the Chinese government has committed against millions of Chinese women/girls, and demand the Chinese government (the CCP) stop such crimes and protect the disadvantaged women and children, and give them back their basic human rights and the dignity as a human being.

The “Chained woman” in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, exposed two months ago, and the “iron-caged woman” in Yulin, Shaanxi, exposed a few days ago, have detonated the online world due to their extremely inhumane and tragic encounters, and caused widespread concern and anger in China and the whole world. Actually, this is just a tip of the iceberg. There are hundreds of thousands of women (girls) who are abducted/kidnapped and trafficked in the CCP’s mainland China every year. In addition to the general loss of conscience and corruption of people’s hearts under the CCP’s evil ruling, there are also systemically institutional causes for such tragedy: the corruption of the ruling power, law enforcement officers’ involvement in crimes and becoming the umbrella of the criminals, and the general promiscuity of the CCP officials at all levels, which has contributed to the birth of the industry of “supply of extramarital sex demand”. For example, the iron-chained woman was originally a beautiful virgin used by the secretary and mayor of Feng County in Xuzhou to sexually bribe their upper officials. After being used, she was sold to a poor man as a sex slave. These women live a life of being constantly raped and group-raped, turned into reproductive machines, tortured, beaten, abused, chained/caged and even treated as mentally ill…… Many are even tortured to death.

When the iron-chained woman case was first exposed, the local government tried its best to cover up and deny it. Later, amid the news was hit more than 20 billion times on the world network, and the widespread angry roaring for accountability, the county, city and even the provincial government had to conduct a “comprehensive” and “in-depth” investigation, and published five investigation reports, which are all to “call the deer as a horse”, to cover previous lies with a new lie, and to diminish the facts and crimes. This once again fully reflects the CCP’s customary evil tactics: suppressing the media, deleting posts, tracing and suppressing those who expose the truth, and centrally disposing (or even “eliminating”) these “Chained women” to prevent further exposure, and punishing several scapegoats; instead of allowing the exposure of facts, thoroughly investigating the truth, prosecuting all the criminals, examining the institutional root causes, and improving the implementation of the law.

Although we are fortunate enough to flee China and avoid such an inhuman fate, we are very worried that our fellow Chinese there, including our loved ones, such as wives, mothers, daughters or sisters. Since they may be kidnapped and trafficked, forced to marry, raped and gang-raped, chained, locked in a dungeon… Her dreams, happiness and even dignity will be brutally destroyed, and finally she will become the “Chained woman” whose life is inferior to an animal.

Today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day, and March is also the Women’s History Month in the United States. Supposedly, it should be a day when all women in the world happily celebrate their festival. But we cannot help crying sadly in the lieu of at least 10 million women and children in China suffering from the same inhumane lives as the “Chained woman” in the past several decades. Therefore, on this special day of International Women’s Day on March 8, we, the overseas Chinese, raise the following two requests to the UNESCO, UN Women and UNICEF:

  1. To intervene and demand the Chinese government thoroughly investigate the actual situation of the trafficked women in China, such as the “Iron-Chained Woman” and “Iron-Caged Woman”, who shocked the entire world, and prosecute all the criminals in such a chain of interest for their criminal and civil liabilities; to demand the Chinese government find out the truth, scale and systemically institutional problems associated with the trafficking, abuse, and violence of women and children; to demand the Chinese government establish and improve the law enforcement system to prevent trafficking and abusing of women and children.
  2. In view of the fact that numerous women and children in China have been trafficked and abused, and at least hundreds of thousands of Southeast Asian women have been trafficked to China, and there are at least 80 million left-behind Chinese children in the rural areas who lack care and cannot go to school normally, and Ms. Peng, Liyuan, “the special envoy for women and children’s education”, has done nothing to help the suffered women and children for many years, we strongly urge the UN to remove Peng, Liyuan from the honorary position of “Special Envoy for the Promotion of Women and Children’s Education”! She has failed this title!

We look forward to the UN’s response to our appeal as we are continuing our fight for the justice for our miserable and enslaved sisters in China!

Joint Letter Urging UNESCO to Revoke Peng Liyuan’s Title as Special Envoy for Girls and Women’s Education

Ms. Audrey Azoulay

Director-General, UNESCO

7 Pl. de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, France

5 March 2022

Dear Ms. Azoulay,

On March 27, 2014, Ms. Peng Liyuan, wife of General Secretary Xi Jinping, was awarded the “Special Envoy for Girls and Women’s Education” by UNESCO.

Since the plight of a chained mother of eight came to light from Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, on December 5, 2021, it has outraged the whole world. The Chinese government has so far issued five announcements on this case. However, Ms. Peng Liyuan, UNESCO Special Envoy for the Promotion of Girls and Women’s Education, has not said anything on the plight of this woman, who has been reportedly trafficked and abused and suffered for more than 20 years. (Read more Here )

In fact, tens of thousands of women and children are believed to be trafficked and abused in China every year. Yet we have never heard Ms. Peng express any concern about such serious and vicious human rights violations against women and girls. She has failed to urge the Chinese government to comply with and implement the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as China’s various laws on the protection of the rights of women and children. She has made no effort in these areas. (Read more: Here )

We think that Ms. Peng Liyuan is no longer suitable to be the UNESCO special envoy for girls and women. If Ms. Peng is still appointed as the special envoy, it will seriously undermine the reputation of UNESCO, and Peng’s special envoy status will become a laughingstock of the world.(Read more: Here )

In view of this, as a group of people who deeply care about the rights and wellbeing of women and girls, we have launched a global open joint petition to ask UNESCO to strip Ms. Peng of the title of “special envoy for the promotion of girls and women’s education” and issue an announcement to inform the world.

Groups Rallied at the UN to Call for Revoke Peng Liyuan’s Status as “Special Envoy”

WRIC Report/Photos                                             03-08-2023

Front of the gate of the United Nations Headquarters in New York to demonstrate two demands, that is, to call for international attention to the incident of the “Chained woman” and the “Special Envoy” title of the Peng Liyuan. Groups participating in the demonstration include Women’s Rights in China, Christian Alliance for Righteousness, Church of Rock New York, Humanitarian China, China Reborn, China Democracy Party, the China Federal Party, and the Chinese Democracy and Human Rights Alliance. Representatives of each organization made statements. Zhang Jing, president of Women’s Rights in China has gave a speech and was entrusted to read Mr. Wang Dan’s speech.

The “Chained woman” in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, which was exposed two months ago along with the “Iron Cage Girl” in Yulin, Shaanxi, a few days ago, detonated the Internet world because of their extremely tragic experiences. Shocked and angry reactions blew up. In fact, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are more than hundreds of thousands of women (girls) who are bought, sold, kidnapped, and raped in mainland China every year to which those are a common event. Because in addition to the general loss of conscience and corrupt hearts under the CCP’s rule, there are also institutional problems such as corruption in the public security bureau, law enforcement officers participating in crimes and becoming the umbrella for criminals, the pro CCP officials, from large to small, contribute to the “supply” of extramarital sex demand. The process is no different from an assembly line that handles humans. For example, Xuzhou was originally a beautiful virgin who was used by the secretary and county magistrate of Xuzhou Feng County to sexually bribe the mayor above. These women have been raped and gang-raped all their lives, turned into reproductive machines, tortured, sexually abused, chained, locked in iron cages, pits, and pigpens, and spent their lives as mental patients. The ones that are deemed to be useless are murdered.

When the case of the “Chained woman” came to light, the local government tried its best to cover up and deny it. Later, the Internet around the world clicked on it more than 20 billion times. Amid the widespread clamor for accountability, the county, city, and even provincial governments had to conduct “comprehensive” and “in-depth” investigations and published five investigation reports. But they all point at a deer as if it was a horse, refurbish lies, and cover up mistakes. This once again fully demonstrates the usual methods of the CCP: Suppressing the media, deleting the posts, tracking down and suppressing those who revealed the truth, and centralizing these “Chained Women” and “Iron Caged Women” (or even make them disappear) to prevent them from being exposed again; They sacrificed pawns to save rooks, deal with a few small officials, etc.; instead of allowing the facts to be exposed, thoroughly investigating the truth, investigating the criminal and civil responsibilities of criminals, examining the root causes of the system, and improving the operation of public power.

Although we were fortunate enough to leave mainland China to avoid such an inhuman fate, we still worry about our compatriots in China, including our loved ones in China, such as wives, mothers, daughters or sisters, lest they be knocked down when they are kidnapped, raped, and transported to some backcountry where they were forced to marry, raped and gang-raped, chained, and locked in a dungeon… Their dreams, happiness, and even dignity were brutally destroyed, and they would end up as a “Chained woman” or “Iron Cage Girl”.

Two letters were mailed to UNESCO, one was an open letter signed by 410 people, with a single petition, urging UNESCO to revoke Peng Liyuan’s Special Envoy status and to Promote Girls’ and Women’s Education; The statement of the demonstration in front of the gate, in addition to demanding that Peng Liyuan’s UN special envoy title be revoked, also called on the international community to pay attention to the incident of the chained woman in China, urge the Chinese government to truly and effectively combat human trafficking, thoroughly investigate the truth of the chained woman case, and deal with it seriously. All criminals involved in the case should be charged and they must compensate for the lifelong sufferings of the Chained Girl, Iron Cage Girl, and Cave Girl.

Two letters were sent to the UNESCO.
